Happy {belated} Halloween!

We did it.  We survived our very first Halloween, and not even a month after being diagnosed! We started off the morning with a breakfast of champions.  Biscuits & gravy with {plastic} spiders hidden in the gravy.  [The only thing I didn't get a picture of!]

For lunch we had Mummy Dogs, Spider Eggs, and Zombie Teeth:

Our dinner was Mummy Meatloaf, Ghost Mashed Potatoes & Pumpkin Coins (aka carrots).  {We took the noodles off of the meatloaf before eating it .. we're going for looks here!}

By the time dinner was done, we were rushing out the door to meet {for the first time} our new friends who have a son who is diagnosed with type 1.  We spent the evening trick or treating, and then hanging out!  It was so great to be around people who truly understand what you are going through!

Batman aka Corbin

Spiderman aka  Callan {my d. baby}
Flash Gordon aka Cason

Batman & Spiderman waiting for some loot!
Spiderman {Callan} is trying to just walk on in and get the candy for himself.  He is soo patient.  We let them each choose 10 pieces of candy last night to keep.  The rest was given up as an offering to The Great Pumpkin. I was a little worried when they woke up that they would be sad that their candy was missing.  But who could be sad with cool new toys like Optimus Prime & Bumblebee!  My plan was successful. :)

I also want to say Happy National Diabetes Awareness Month!  I never thought that I would be so passionate about diabetes!
